Survey dated February 1824 by Kenneth McKrummen, Surveyor for Rapides Parish. Agreeably to a request of Smith W. BREWSTER, Curator of the Estate of James BREWSTER, dec'd. This survey was made for the purpose of dividing the land belonging to the succession of James BREWSTER, having been obtained by 1st Class Claim # A-970 to the U.S. and land adjacent in the rear by preemption patent purchased from the U.S. to the upper side of the Indian Claim (tribe not identified) containing 765.87 acres and for delivering to _____ (name omitted... for shame) one of the Heirs, her part (ah... a female) who was represented by her husband (not named...pooh). Mentions twice...a one-fourth part. Luckily... on the lower tract of two shown on the survey plat is shown the name of Jeremiah GREENVILLE. Is this the unknown female heir's husband ? How many heirs of James BREWSTER were there ? 4 ? There appears to be more land in this survey, but not yet split up. Curious... Houston
