I got a virus "BAD TRANS" from an email. The virus took my new emails, copied them, attached the virus and sent the email back to the sender with the attachment, without my realizing what was happening. I did not intentionally sent the virus to anyone. My Norton 2000 was last updated 15 days earlier and missed the new virus. I updated the Norton, destroyed BAD TRANS and now I am clean. I'm sorry for any inconvenience that I caused any one. Now I am clean again - lets get on with collecting genealogy. Me too, Faye. Nine different times today he sent me a virus. And 9 times Norton intercepted it at the pass, so to speak! And, based on my experiences with him thus far, I am quite sure I will hear from him again - and again -and again. Fortunately, my antivirus program checks all my email before it ever reaches me and by the time I see it, it has already been rendered virtually harmless. But, homedude better be careful, I am not sure of the specifics, but isn't there some kind of situation whereby law enforcement or FBI or someone gets involved when a hacker, or in this case an attempt to render members of a list such that they cannot utilize their computers, causes website problems when sending something en masse like this? I was able to get his real name from all of this as well as his email address. If I can do this, I am sure the police/FBI/whomever would have no problem whatsoever. If I were he, I would stop immediately with this nonsense before he makes the right person aingry and then life could get tough, ya know? Oh well, men and their toys, right??
