    1. Re: [LARAPIDE] Re: Coleman Martin Calvit ancestors
    2. About 1830 my ancestor Rachel (maiden name unknown) widow of Stephen Lynch and mother of two children married James Swann about 1830. 1830 Census for St. Landry Parish Louisiana, No Township Listed, page 17: James Swan 1840 Census for Rapides Parish Louisiana No Township Listed, page 209: James Swan: "Jas Swan two males under 5 (Appleton and Martin), one male 5 to 10 (Jeremiah), 1 male 15 to 20 (John), one male 50-60 (James Swann), one female under 5 (Florina), two females 10 to15 (gone in 1850 census), one female 15 to 20 (Mary Ann), and one female 30 to 40 (Rachel). 1840 Census for Pointecoupee p. Louisiana, No Township Listed, page 188: SWANN JOHN* 1850 Census for Rapides Parish Louisiana as enumerated Sept 14, 1850, Page 64 Household # 352: James SWAN age 60 male farmer with $500 value real estate born in GA , Rachael age 54 female born in LA, John age 25 male born in LA, Jeremiah age 18 male born in LA, Florina age 15 male born in LA, Appleton age 11 male born in LA, Martin V.B. age 10 born in LA, Bernard age 8 male , and Mary Ann LYNCH age 32 female and a pauper. I have to wonder now if there were two James Swann's which is of course very possible. I did try to find out when Jane Nolin died by looking in the cemetery for her but if she is in Barnidge--she is not listed in the small index of it on line. . Open to any ideas and info!
