I got a call today from John Sauer in Houston. He's searching for information on Timothy DEVORE (DEVOUR). He was listed in the 1820 census in Rapides Parish, but by the early 1830s he was in Texas. By the 1840s, Mr Sauer believes he was back in Louisiana since there is a Congressional record of a pension record back in Rapides Parish. The DEVORE family was also found in Louisiana in 1802. Mr Sauer said other towns are mentioned in his research including Bogola and Falls River. He is trying to determine where he should look for congressional records and other records since the courthouse was burned during 1864. He's going to be in Louisiana this weekend for a wedding. Would a trip to the Archives in Baton Rouge be of any help? Please help me tell advise him where else he may find records of that sort in the state.
