She often spoke of the panthers screaming in the woods, she said "they screamed just like a women." Mary Stark's first husband was Charles D. Oliver (b. Jan. 14, 1858; d. Grandmother Louisa was the daughter of Zeno & Charlotte HOUGH of Wayne, Smith, and Jasper Counties. Grandfather Samuel was born in Covington County, the son of Jesse & Tobitha GIEGER. After grandfather Samuel's death, grandmother Louisa lived in Grant and Catahoula Parishes and her grandchildren were born there. His younger sisters lived in Caldwell Parish.
