Hello to everyone, Announcing some new on-line sites for our local organization. Central Louisiana Genealogical Society... Sponsored by RootsWeb and currently maintained by CLGS-member, Margaret Ortigo. http://www.rootsweb.com/~laclgs/ Another actually hosted by the Alexandria Daily Town Talk newspaper and the Louisiana Press Association, a site for all interests concerning Central Louisiana. I'll just be adding updates of monthly activities, as needed. http://gocenla.thetowntalk.com/124/ We are in our infancy on the internet, so be patient as we learn and grow together to improve and add to our page(s). These are not meant to compete with any other established sites, they are just intended to get more exposure. If people don't know what's out there... they'll not ask the right questions. Houston Tracy, Jr. Treasurer - CLGS P.S. Pass Gocenla.com around, our local area needs more exposure of a positive nature and the "net" is a good place to start reaching those from afar.

Searching for the name of the parents of William Stephen Chevalier, born about 1830. DeAnn
I wonder if your William is related to Joseph Chevalier, son of Joseph. He married Florence Alice Lynch was born in 1854 in Rapides--so this Joseph may have been a nephew or younger brother of your William. I would be interested to know more about the Chevalier family although I have this info because I am related to the Lynch branch. *Vinita Shaw
