The person > seems to have a very colorful vocabulary. Once I received his personal email, I sort of stooped to his level, and unloaded on him. I just couldn't help myself. I don't think I will hear from anymore. I get the feeling that this particular person, is not someone you would want in your genealogy tree.

    2. I cannot imagine a guy who couldn't follow instructions well enough to get himself off this list to be smart enough to develope and send a virus, unless it was a cold. He reminded me of a dog I once had that was forever getting into something that he could not get out of.

    3. Jerry and the rest of the List members, I have some really bad news. I don't know how or why, but my antivirus software just intercepted a virus attached to an email and you'll just never guess which email. The one to the list from the Platinum Soul dude himself. Don't know if he had the virus and didn't know it or if he got ticked off (he was most obviously ticked off) more than I realized he was and deliberately sent us a virus. If you guys have antivirus programs on your computers, I highly recommend you run them right now - pay special attention to your emails when you run your antivirus programs. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Brenda Wilkins Hudson I checked what information I could on this particular virus and this is what I found out: Virus Name: [email protected] Infects: .EXE files Occurrence: Rare Length 13312 bytes Size 130 kb Filename: c:\windows\temp\README.TXT.pif Per Norton AntiVirus: This virus destroys the programs it infects. Type: Shortcut to MSDOS Program According to my email virus protector, the virus came through the email sent to the LARAPIDE list from PlatinumSoul complaining that he couldn't unsubscribe. The subject line of his email was: REMOVE ME PLEASE DON'T SEND IT BACK TO ME I guess now we know WHY he didn't want the email sent back to him?? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jerry Neal" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, April 19, 2001 10:26 AM Subject: Re: [LARAPIDE] REMOVE ME PLEASE DON"T SEND IT BACK TO ME!!! > > Brenda, thanks for telling PlatinumSoul how to get off the list...I tried > but couldn't think of a suitable reply that wouldn't have gotten me kicked > off the list!!! > J > > > _________________________________________________________________ > Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com > >

    3. Jerry, you are welcome. I began to realize that Mr. Platinum was getting a little out of hand with his foul mouth and saw no reason to subject everybody on the list to language any worse than he was already using, so I figured the best thing to do is give him step by step instructions on how to go AWAY. If it makes you feel any better, I had to delete the first email message to him that I was prepared to send because it was just about as "pretty" as his were becoming. I figured SOMEBODY had to be the adult in this exchange of words and getting him off the list in the normal but also quietest and simplest way seemed to be the best solution for all. What I have trouble figuring out is if he knew how to get ON the list, why couldn't he figure out how to get OFF the list!!!! I mean, this man was getting rather foul towards the end there. Don't know how many people subscribe to this list, but every one of us were called stupid b-----ds, if I remember correctly, and I just didn't care for that. Anyhow, hopefully it is over and done with and Mr. Platinum can get on with his trash somewhere else!!! Brenda PS Don't know about you, but I am far from stupid and I dang sure ain't a b-----d!!!!!!! A b---h, maybe! ha ha ha ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jerry Neal" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, April 19, 2001 10:26 AM Subject: Re: [LARAPIDE] REMOVE ME PLEASE DON"T SEND IT BACK TO ME!!!

    3. To PlatinumSoul79: To get removed from this list, just type in [email protected] in the TO: line in a blank email. Then on the subject line type: UNSUBSCRIBE Just to make sure they get the message, also type UNSUBSCRIBE in the body of the email. Send it and the only thing that should happen is that you will get an email, probably, telling you that you have been unsubscribed from this list. Hope it works. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, April 18, 2001 5:37 PM Subject: Re: [LARAPIDE] REMOVE ME PLEASE DON"T SEND IT BACK TO ME!!! > REMOVE ME NOW!!! > >

    3. Houston, I have been going to the local library in Lake Charles and viewing microfilm on the Lake Charles American Press. I have found a number or obituaries for relatives. Thanks for the suggestion. 3. Leila PRICE was born about 1890. Around 1919 she married Herbert DUKE. Leila PRICE DUKE died before 1923 of Tuberculosis. She had close ties to Rapides Parish but I can find no record of her marriage there. She had a brother Frank. I know the went "west" for a while during the marriage because of her health.
