I have had Fold3 which used to be <footnote.com> for several years now. I think it is worth it. Lots of military records including Confederate civilians who sold commodities and supplies to the army. Besides Ancestry.com, of course, genealogybank.com is my second favorite site, but this comes in as a solid third.
