Most definitely, worth the $39. I have found information to extend families that I would not have sent to the archives and paid the amount for. I have learned of deaths and burials of soldiers in the different wars. Of war prisoners, etc. So yes it is worth it. Pat In a message dated 6/19/2012 11:53:56 A.M. I agree with Pat and others about now Fold3 (formerly Footnote). Not only does it have the wonderful military docs, but great big collections of city directories back into the 1800s. When I first subscribed in Jul 2009 it was $59.95. When I renew my Ancestry this year I will certainly continue to include Fold3. I also want to thank whoever gave the hint about adding the European segments on to Ancestry in monthly increments ... never thought of that before. Also I am a big fan of GenealogyBank. And recent threads have given me yet another winding road to use. My great grandmother's obit copies Evansville, IN newspaper. I know she was about 12 when she came to US from Germany, but have yet to determine her port of entry. I'm going to have to check out how and maybe find out why her obit or necrology notice was reported there. This bunch is just so smart and generous, it's a privilege to belong to the group.
