I don't know about Legacy and FTM, but if you change over with a GEDCOM, it will not transfer photos or documents so be careful not to delete anything until you are sure you have everything saved. Some programs accept files from other programs so make sure you read all the instructions. BTW, I have used FTM for years and now use FTM12. I have over 19,600 people, photos and documents and no problems. I've enjoyed quite a few of the free Legacy seminars on various aspects of genealogy, so it seems fair to reciprocate and use their program. Hope I can manage the switch. Thanks to all of you for recommending Legacy. Mariela, That is one answer that I really appreciate. I guess with my 2000 people I don't have to worry about running out of space with FTM 2011 for a LONG LONG time! Thanks! (However, I am still intrigued with the idea of Legacy!)
