I looked at the 1940 Census on Ancestry yesterday, and was dismayed to find that it has not yet been indexed. Indexed at this point are: AK, AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, DC, DE, GA, HI, ID, IN, KS, KY, MA, ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SD, TN, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI. Coming soon are: AK, AR, ID, MA, MN, MO, NM, ND, OK, RI, SD, UT. I'm getting very impatient to see LA on that list! I knew that I had eight corrections to make, and I just went to www.ancestry.com to make them. It was quite user friendly, and I see that they did not immediately go into effect. Do you know how Ancestry goes about installing the corrections? I had the last name misspelled four times, my father and brother with first names wrong, and my brothers born in the wrong state. Has anyone had experience with interacting with them on these things?
