I knew there was a new Clerk of Court and I was hoping they were just changing the URLs or something like that, but charging - ugh.  Jefferson Parish charges $100 - grrr. I agree with you, a free index is very helpful.  It's nice to be able to check before requesting a document blind, paying money, and getting a "document not found" response and they keep the money! I came across a New Orleans Genesis vol VI March 1967 No 22 and it includes the St Mary's church index of Baptisms 6 Oct 1855 A- Ke & Index of Marriages 21 Aout {aug?} 1852 indexes. I looked but did not see them listed on-line.
