The correct address is Archdiocesan Archives, 1100 Chartres, New Orleans (the sacramental registers are actually kept in the cold-storage vault at 7887 Walmsley). If you want to check on your request, call Janet Adams at 504-529-2651, or e-mail her at jadams@mail.archdiocese-no.org. A wonderful volunteer named Jack Belsom comes in several days a week and works on all the requests they've received. So if you haven't had any response, your letter has probably gotten misdirected.
