I have the index to the sacramental records, vol. 11, 1813-1815. This marriage is not recorded under Hotard/Otard, St. Armand/Daspit/Daspie; there are, however, other entries for those surnames. I have found that, even though there's a marriage contract indicating that a couple was married in Orleans Parish, there is no record of the marriage at St. Louis Cathedral or any of the other churches included in the published index. An oversight on the part of the priest? Remember that there are no civil marriage records until about 1870. > [Original Message] > From: <Smileson@aol.com> > To: <laorlean@rootsweb.com> > Date: 05/25/2008 9:41:18 AM > Subject: Re: [LAORLEAN] LAORLEAN Digest, MARRIAGE RECORD > > Is there a marriage record for > Mathieu Hotard > to > Baselice daspit St Amand > married Sept 12, 1815 > daughter of Pierre [daspit] St Amand and Marie Mayeux > > If so how can I get a copy? > > I find the list of their children in > So LA Records vol 1 - 1794-1840 > pge 286 > children of Mathieu HOTARD & Baselice DASPIT St Amand > 1.] Anne Baselice > 2.] Claire Annette > 3.] Emile > 4.] Emilie > 5.] Francois Jules > 6.] Insille > 7.] Marie Celima > 8.] Maria Juliana > 9.] Olizime > > > ************** > Get trade secrets for amazing burgers.
