Some of my Swiss ancestors have been "rebaptized" by the LDS Church, but somehow it has never bothered me. The practice is so far from my and my ancestors' religious beliefs, it simply signifies nothing to me. It is meaningless. I feel it is unfortunate that the RC Church now plans to "hoard" its records (and keep them away from US) in response to something that should not be perceived as a threat. There are enough real problems in this world, that I would think the Pope would do better to focus on those.
