Hi NOVA, Does anyone have any background information on the City Insane Asylum? I was contacted by Pat (copying her on this email) who discovered her relative Kate Pendergast in the records of the Next of Kin of Patients in the Insane Asylum that we transcribed for the Louisiana Division. I suggested to Pat to try to find out where the patients in the asylum came from. I suspect that many came from Charity Hospital. If so, there would be an admission record for Kate somewhere on the microfilm for the 1877 admissions, assuming she was not in the asylum or the hospital for long.
