    3. I found the following in the Univ. of Notre Dame Archives. This couple were married outside the Church on 22 Jan 1800 in East Baton Rouge, LA. Most all children seem to have been baptised in the Church. How might I get a copy of the dispensation and any follow up? note: sorry for length, but wanted to send all I had found. BTW, this Guillarmo Wikoff of EBR Parish seems to have been the father of Susan Hepp's children including the Juliana Wikoff who married Fernando Gayoso de Lemos (not the one from St. Landry Parish). Two children born before his marriage to Isavel Mather and 2-3 after they were married. Thanks for any help and or suggestions. 1800 Jan. 15 Wikoff, Guillarmo New Orleans, (Louisiana) Wikoff, a native and business man of New Orleans, wishes to marry Isavel Mather, daughter of Santiago and Francisca. Wikoff is a Protestant; Isavel a Catholic. Wikoff asks permission for the marriage by reason of the royal order relative to marriages between Catholics and Protestants. Wikoff is the owner of a new house. His fiancee is the daughter of Protestant parents but was educated at the Convent of the Ursulines. Wikoff is ready to swear not to interfere with Isavel's religion and that the children should follow the religion of their mother. D.S. (Spanish) -------- 1800 Jan. 17 Penalver y Cardenas, Bishop Luis (New Orleans), Louisiana (The above) is to be given to Father Ubaldo Delgado, (0.F.M.), named as attorney. Father Isidro Quintero certifies as secretary. A.D.S. (Spanish) -------- 1800 Jan. 18 Quintero, Father Isidro New Orleans, (Louisiana) Quintero notified Delgado who accepts the appointment and signs. A.D.S. (Spanish) -------- 1800 Jan. 20 Delgado, Father Ubaldo New Orleans, (Louisiana) Delgado calls attention to instruction given at San Lorenzo November 30, 1792, for the observance of the royal ordinance of December 17, permitting marriage between Protestants and Catholics in this colony. Doubtless Wil[k]coff has based his petition for marriage with Isabel Mather on this but since no causes can be found to make it legitimate it should be denied. Delgado quotes from proceedings of the General Council of Carcedonia, from Pope Benedict XIV's diocesan synod, Canon 45, a Bull of November 11, 1741 and Clement XI. A.D.S. (Spanish) -------- 1800 Jan. 21 Penalver y Cardenas, Bishop Luis (New Orleans), Louisiana It is decreed (as above). A.D.S. (Spanish) -------- 1800 Jan. 22 Penalver y Cardenas, Bishop Luis (New Orleans), Louisiana The causes and security given by wilcoff are not sufficient to obtain the dispensation. D.S. (Spanish) V-2-i D.S., A.D.S. (Spanish) 11pp. 4to. Thanks Jan S - Orlando, FL
