    3. Hi Marilyn, One of the best sites about Bogalusa and Washington Parish I've ever found is this one: Bogalusa, Washington Parish, Louisiana - History, Photos, and Links: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mcclendon/Bogalusa/ It includes the book, "Bogalusa Story" by C. W. Goodyear, pub. 1950, which is an excellent history of the area: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mcclendon/Bogalusa/Bogalusa%20Story/index.html You'll find links to her genealogy sites, too. (Give the pages time to load, they go on and on...and on. :-) Nancy Nancy http://www.thepastwhispers.com/Old_New_Orleans.html From: Marilyn Morris <marilynmorris@charter.net> To: laorlean@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, April 9, 2008 9:01:28 PM Subject: Re: [LAORLEAN] Are there other web sites that would include people and info from other areas of LA? I was born in New Orleans in Charity Hospital. I have learned so much from many of you. I have loved every minute of reading your information and seeing your pictures. Now, I wonder if you have knowledge of other sites or list about other parts of the state. I am not leaving this one, I would just like to expand. My grandmother was Alleyna Grace Talley. Her father was John Bunyon Talley. They apparently lived in the St. Tammany/Washington parishes. My grandfather was T. V. Peters from TN. He was brought to LA to teach and preach in the Episcopal Methodist/Methodist Church. We are told that Mr Bunyon Talley offered to provide room and board for a teacher/preacher if one would come to Bogalusa. We are also told that T. V. Peters was that man and that he preached his first sermon in a mill in Bogalusa. Over the years, he served many churches in LA and in TN. During their life time, Alleyna and T. V. (Timothy Victor Hugo) Peters lived in Rio, Sun, Bush, Covington, Slidell, Donaldson, Waldheim, Bogalusa and maybe many other communities in LA. We are told that he was involved in the construction of some churches in the area. Alleyna and Tim Peters had 10 children including my mother, Helen. Marilyn Morris in TN
