I am searching for information on Emile E. WALKER, the name he was known by for most of his life. He was baptized Emile E.N. WALTER, born in New Orleans 14 July 1842. His mother was Catherine WALTER, his father unknown. Catherine was pregnant with Emile when she immigrated from France. Every census I've found him on he is either WALKER or WEBER, his step-father's name. He served in the Civil War, as Emile WALKER, married in 1871 as Emile WALKER to Louisa BURGESS. He died 29 July 1886 as Emile WALKER, place of burial unknown but in New Orleans somewhere. Could possibly have been Girod Street Cemetery. Naaman L. BURGESS, born between 1802 and 1810, depending on what census you check, in Massachusetts, possibly Boston. He was in New Orleans by 1837 as that is when he married Mary Jane RUTAN at the First Congregational Church. Died in New Orleans after May 1876. His wife, Mary Jane, was buried at Girod Street Cemetery. Obituary for him is needed. Buried with Mary Jane RUTAN BURGESS at Girod Street Cemetery was an "S. Webb". Still looking for proof of who this person could be.
