Guillaume Trahan was born in Montreuil-Bellay (Region of Anjou), around 1600, in the parish of St. Pierre. He was the son of Nicholas Trahan and Renee Desloges (many of these records are available through the Archives of Bms). Il épouse Françoise CORBINEAU, le 13 juillet 1627, à CHINON (Saint-Etienne) en TOURAINE. Il réside ensuite à BOURGUEIL en ANJOU, paroisse Saint-Germain, près du château de Razilly (berceau de Claude et Isaac de Razilly qui ont engagé Guillaume TRAHAN et Pierre MARTIN pour l'ACADIE, le 1er avril 1636). Leur fille Jeanne sera la future épouse de Jacques BOURGEOIS, un des pionniers de l'ACADIE, qui est parti sur le SAINT-FRANCOIS, de LA ROCHELLE, vaisseau des Razilly, le 7 mai 1641). Documents authentiques retrouvés par Jean-Marie GERME, qui a organisé les célébrations du 350ème Anniversaire à Bourgueil, Chinon et Montreuil-Bellay les 12 et 13 juillet 1987 avec le groupe de Marcel TRAHAN de MONTREAL et les TRAHAN de FRANCE qu'il a retrouvé à la LIGNE ACADIENNE (Archigny/Cenan/Saint-Pierre-de-Maillé), ayant, seul, fait les recherches ascendantes et descendantes des TRAHAN. He married Francoise Corbineau on the 13 July 1627, in Chinon (region of St. Etienne) in Touraine. Afterwards he lived in Bourueil in the region of Anjou, parish of St. Germaine, near the chateau of Razilly. This was the farm of Claude and Isaac de Razilly who employed Guillaume Trahan and Pierre Martin for [l'Acadie], on 1 April 1636. Guillaume and Francoise's daughter Jeanne was the future wife of Jacques Bourgeois, one of the pioneers of Acadiana, who left on the ship St. Francoise from La Rochelle 7 May 1641, a vessel owned by Razilly. These authenticated documents were discovered by Jean-Marie Germe, who oranized the 350th anniversary celebration of Bourueil, Chinon and Montreuil-Bellay on 12-13 July 1987, with a group including Marcel Trahan of Montreuil, and the Trahans of France who discovered the Acadienne Line (Archiny/Cenan/Saint-Pierre-de-Maille). Their research includes only Trahan ancestors and descendents.
