Patti: I had a case on the Achee family go to the Supreme Court of LA in 1859. I had found the sucession in the Ascension Parish index but when I wrote to Ascension Parish for a copy o,f succession they advised me that the suit file could not be located. I wrote to the LA Supreme Court in New Orleans and they advised me the origian Sucession was in the Supreme Court records. Long story to suggest that you write the LA Supreme Court in New Orleans; 400 Royal St; New Orleans, LA 70130. Good Luck! I did a search of Google Books and found her listed in"Report of cases argued and determined in the Supreme Court of Louisiana - 1875 Vol. 27". The case was Stewart Widow vs. VM Killmartin and JB Davis page 456. My grandmother's name was Virginia Sarah Moore Killmartin who died in NO in 1883. I would like to know where I could find information on the original case before it went to the Supreme Court. Thanks for any assistance.
