Hi all.  Grew up in Shreveport, La. which is just across the river from Bossier.  We basically  called the city Bosure with only 1 s.  If I remember right, Bossier  City, located in Bossier parish, was named after a  creole  french planter by the same name.  Maybe some one who knows french from the early days of Louisiana's history can give you  the correct pronunciation.
