    1. [LAORLEAN] strange coincidence

    3. My GGgrandfather, Rudolphe Baumgartner, died in Aug, 1900 as the result of a trolley/train accident and then today while doing some research for Cheramie one of her ancestors died at age 14, on 19 Aug 1900 as the result of a train accident. I just rarely let coincidences pass me by. Any ideas how to research train/trolley accident in Aug 1900 in New Orleans? Would there have been a police report? Some sort of inquest? Got this years ago, 1/20/05 - from Rose ([email protected]) In the Picayune of Thursday, August 9, 1900, on page 3, is an article with the header "Trolley Victims." BAUMGARTEN DIES. Rudolf Baumgarten, of 3825 Customhouse street, who was injured some nights back by a West End train, died in the hospital yesterday. And Merle sent this: On Wednesday, August 8, 1900 at 3:15 p.m., Rudolph Baumgartner, age 71, a native of Switzerland and a resident of this city for the past 62 years passed. The friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will take place this Thursday afternoon, August 9, 1900, at 3 O'clock from the residence of his daughter Mrs. F. Marin #3827 Customhouse St. without further notice. Were there lots of train/trolley accidents in August, 1900?
