I understand there is a newspaper index for obituaries in the library. I may have found some of my family in the New Orleans Death Epidemic records and am hoping there might be an obit for these people. The person I am looking for is listed in that record as NICHOLAS WOLLFR_M age 14 who had died of "fever" on 16 July 1853. Also there is a CATHERINE WALFRON who died 18 July 1853 also of "fever". Pat: The Obituary Index for the Tinmes Picayune and other early New Orleans newspaper is to be found at http://neworleanspubliclibrary.org/obits/obits.htm I do not fin d either person with the various spelling in the obituary index. The New Orleans GenWeb has early death certifcates index.
