    3. Hi, everyone! I'm hoping someone will be able to answer some questions for me. Recently, I was looking for more info on Adelaide Macarty, wife of Azor Raymond Zeringue. They are my paternal 4th great grandparents. I really have no other info on Raymond, but I do have Addie's succession record which clearly states that her name was Adelaide Macarty, wife of the deceased Azor Raymond Zeringue. Addie died in 1844-45. I know of three children: Michel Raymond Zeringue, Adolph Raymond Zeringue (c. 1823) and Felicite Raymond Zeringue (c.1825). There are entries in the Archdiocese of New Orleans Sacramental Records for a marriage for Ramon m. Adelaida Dauphin, December 17, 1805. There are entries for the following children: Michel Zering (Reymond and Francoise Dauphin) baptized at 4 months 6/13/1808. Sponsor here is Therese Dauphin, the "infant's maternal grandmother". Pedro (Remond and Adelaida Dauphin) born 5/1/1809 Ulgere Athanese (Remond and Adelaida Dauphin) bapt. 6/24/1811 Louise (Remond and Francoise Macarty) born 1/27/1815 Joseph (Raymond and Adelaide Dauphin) born 2/23/1817. The sponsor here is Michel Raymond Zeringue. I asked someone on another board and she said this is my Raymond and Adelaide. Could it be? If so, why is Adelaide's last name "Dauphin" and sometimes her first name is "Francoise"? Did she use her mother's maiden name? Was this a common practice? How can I verify all this? I am very confused and need help please. Julie
