    3. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Geneaology bank scans or copies old newspapers from microfilms. They would not have any original picture. The newspaper it was in would be the only place to find the original picture - unless it is at a library archive - and from 1917, it is doubtfull it would still exist.  You can select the area of the photo from the page and download it and try enhancing it via a photo shop type program.   Gene    Message: 1 Date: Mon, 20 Sep 2010 17:49:59 -0700 (PDT) From: Sally Viada <[email protected]> Subject: [LAORLEAN] Original Photo To: laorleans <[email protected]> Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Hi List, ? Just yesterday I found on Genealogybank a photo of my grandmother on the front page of the ? New Orleans States, dated March 23, 1917. ? It seems my grandfather was one of five survivors when a U-boat torpedoed his ship, theHealdton off Rotterdam. My grandmother is seen in the photo?looking at my dad, then at age 14, as she was told of his survival. ? My question is, does anyone know if the newspaper keeps on file, their original photos?? ? Thanks, ? Sally
