    3. Alexa,   I saw the For Sale signs for a while, but I have yet to find out what's happened to the company - if they've gone out of business or just moved.  If they've moved, I've yet to find out where they went.  I admit that even though I saw the For Sale signs for ages, I was shocked to see the Walgreens spring up so quickly. 3. My mother's very good friend, Rosemary Fallo Verdigets, was the daughter of Felix Fallo one of the partners in the funeral home. Miss Rosemary died last year in Baton Rouge where she moved after her home (formerly her parents home) in Gentilly (near St. Raphael church) flooded in Katrina. That house was where I first saw a color TV ... a Sugar Bowl game on New Years day when it had snowed on New Year's eve. The side lines at Tulane stadium where piled with about 2 feet of snow and topped off with red pointsettias. Lamana-Panno-Fallo was originally at 625 Rampart St. which now is part of the site of Covenant House (near the Municipal Auditorium). Then it moved to the 1717 Vets location. Since I moved to Houma post Katrina, I didn't realize that Walgreens was on the site. Walgreens' spring up like toad stools once the deal is done. It seems L-M-F as a funeral home exists as part of Garden of Memory at 4900 Airline Hwy. That is owned by a Canada based firm which owns and operates funeral homes and cemeteries called the Alderwoods Group of Toronto. If you google Lamana-Panno-Fallo you can get some info on the web and you might try the Italian American Society in New Orleans for some more historical information. This is just a personal memoir on something that "ain't der no more" (at least not in its original form).
