    1. Re: [LAORLEAN] Roll Call
    2. Here is my list. I know my client Vernon Gregson, Jr. is related to some Hughes people, and I've included some relatives that are Hughes that might not even belong to his family. Maybe one of you can disprove some of the Hughes connections that I have found. I found an obit that reads, "Kevin Jon Hughes, age 48 a native of New Orleans, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in Pointe-Aux-Chenes in Terrebone Parish." Anyone out there that knows that family? 1. Re: [LAORLEAN] Roll Call - Meyer
    2. I am sending this both for Sharon Centanne for "Maher" and juniorrocks8@juno.com for "Meyer". I have Patrick Maher b. 1826, married to Honora b. 1831. That is as far back as I go with them. They had two daughters, but no sons, and thus, no one carrying the name. The family, when the girls were grown, identified themselves with the last name "Meaher." The first daughter Catherine (1857 - 5 Dec 1896) married Thomas Burns (18 Jul 1855 - ) on 20 Apr 1874. I have numerous descendents from them. The other daughter of Patrick and Honora Maher is Margaret (1861 - ) married James B. Keenan (1857 - ) 17 Jan 1881. I have not found any children. The Meaher girls with many of the Burnses share a tomb in Metairie Cemetery with the Keenans. Though I see that the Meyers are most probably German and the Meahers are most probably Irish, it is interesting that the names sound alike. 1. [LAORLEAN] AGAWE - northern Alsace records lookups
    2. Mimi Stevens
    3. Somebody wrote me asking about the AGAWE I mentioned and I cannot find the email to respond to them personally. I apologize. Go to this site http://www.agawe-genealogie.com/ click on the American flag. On the left sidebar Aera will show you a map of the area that they have records. Family name you can type in the surname and see if records show up ... if they do ..... The envelope icon is what you click on to send them an email. My questions to them were in English and their response was in English. Some language is different in the translation. The records they sent me were in French (I wish I would have continued my French classes in High School!). For those that have no clue, here is a site you can use for translations. Sometimes they are pretty 'rough' translations, but you'll get the general idea http://babelfish.altavista.com/ I wish you great success! Mimi

    2. My one and only known NO area name is HANAFIN. They came from Ireland, probably Kerry, about 1835 and had a son James, born 1839 or 1841. Supposedly he was orphaned and went out on his own and showed up in IL in 1860 working as a farm hand. Legend has it that he lived with his mother's sister's family, name unknown. Any help appreciated. MaryAnn EberbachMA@aol.com **************Planning your summer road trip? Check out AOL Travel Guides.
