Penny, Nicholas Cuccia is a very popular name in this area! Do you have an approx birthdate for him? Also, is he a Jr.? Hi Norm, Actually, I am noticing it on the trees that are being put up on the site. I was aware of Lafayette situation. Found that out from where my GGgrandparents were married and lived in 1850. This is happening as a part of Ancestry's new "wonderful" help.....auto fill in. More often as not, Ancestry suggests New Orleans, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, USA. I rarely fill in the parish as I am not always sure which parish was which in the late 1700's and early 1800's. Just wondered why it would be doing that. Guess it is because it was, at one time part of both Jefferson and Orleans, and "J" just comes first. Sure wish I had paid better attention in History class, it's tough learning all this stuff at my age. If you know the city, town or area, i.e. Yorkshire, etc try googling that also. the main library in New Orleans has the original interdictions - she can get a copy of that if she gives them the info we transcribed. The interdiction page that I got for my aunt had more information than the records we transcribed for example - she was having frequent seizures and could no longer be cared for at home - said she was clean and i don't remember what else but i think is certainly is worth it to either go to the library and find it or have the library send it. The cost used to be about $2.00 to send for it. Much cheaper than parking and making your own copies (which you pay for) penny ----- Original Message ----- From: <CFitzp@aol.com> To: <LAORLEAN@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, May 01, 2008 5:37 PM Subject: [LAORLEAN] City Insane Asylum 1875-1877 Hi NOVA, Does anyone have any background information on the City Insane Asylum?
