    2. Kathleen, the only one that I find that fits the information of Middlesex is John Salter husband age 32 and his occupation is a Smith. He was born in Sometshire Bridget Salter age 27 and no occupation. She was born in the City of Cork, Ireland. This census was as of the night of March 30, 1851. Their house address is #7 Grammill St. I hope this helps, if this is not the right one, let me know and I will look further. Pat Amarillo, Tx. In a message dated 10/15/2010 12:52:23 P.M. 3. Thanks, Pat; that is the one I was looking at. But, alas, it's not the right girl. I am looking for a Bridget Salter/Salzer [her maiden name] who was born about that time [1820-ish] who married John Gordon. SO close . . . .but it won't work. . . On the N.O. marriage certificate for my ggrandfather Patrick Gordon, born in Ireland, he lists his parents as John Gordon and Bridget Salzer. Bridget may have been born in Ireland, or England. I was looking for Salter because Salzer sounds more German than English or Irish . . . I thought it could be a misspelling on the document. But I can't find Bridget Salzer either [and Bridget doesn't sound German]. Any thoughts or ideas most welcome! 3. ... don't think these are "strange" but rather research "guided by the ancestor" opportunities ... have had many incidents where looking for a person or an event date found related or more in depth information or just about ready to give up finding the information on the next page of the document. Weirdest to date, finding the obit of paternal g/gfather on microfilm at the library on the 105th anniversary of his burial. I think Georg was whispering 'just one more page' since I was ready to hang it up on that hot July Saturday when the library ac was off in the pre-Katrina days.
