    1. Onesime Landry m. Susan (Suzanne?)
    2. Can anyone help Tina Mouton at: tinam52@yahoo.com tinam52@telocity.com with her family line? This is what she wrote to me: Hello Don! I think we connected a few years back when I had just gotten started with all this. I started out by picking up a binder kept by my brother in law, who passed away back in 1997. He had started his research 20 or so years before, and I was fascinated with his notes. Since then I have found that not all his info was correct, but what a start he gave me. I just wish I had developed the interest while he was living. Anyway, thanks for gemailing me. You have the correct family listed for me. I had come across the Onesime Landry you have listed, and suspected that he was probably Joseph Landry's father, but have had no way to prove this. If you have a firm connection, I would very much appreciate your information. I followed this Onesime through the census as far as I could. Since Joseph's father was not married to Suzanne, I doubt there are written records of their relationship other than Joseph's marriage documents (I have a copy of those). While researching the 1870 census for Calcasieu Par, I did discover that there was a Susan Dupre (mulatto, age 12 in 1870)living at house/family# 107. Onesime Landry was 19 and living with his widowed mother and sister Marie in house/family #113. This is the only Susan (Suzanne?) I found in close proximity to Onesime. I have felt that she could have been Joseph's mother, but have no way to substantiate this. I wonder how close together these household could have been? The Dupre family are no longer neighbors in the 1880 census. By then, Onesime was married to "Ophelia", with his widowed mother still living with him. Joseph Landry's mother Suzanne was deceased when he married Louvinia Lavergne in 1890. Could she have died in childbirth? Maybe that is why the family talks about Joseph being raised by his father's family. Joseph Landry's death certificate lists his father as "Bebe" Landry (information for death cert was provided by Jos son Tonise). This is obviously a nickname, and it makes me think that Joseph must have had some level of relationship with his father. I have not been successful in finding Joseph Landry on the census until 1900. I would love to find an 8 y/o Joseph landry someplace in the 1880 census! Too bad the 1890 census is gone. You filled in a blank for me about Louvinia Lavergne, Joseph Landry's wife. I did not have her date of death confirmed. 1931 fits, as she was dead when my father in law (their son) Carlton Landry married in 1936. I have been trying to find a death cert for Louvinia, but no luck so far. What is your source? I have information on Louvinia's family. Let me know if you want that. I have a photo of Louvina that is great, and a restored pic of her parents as well (William and Marie [Thibodeaux] Lavergne) I would like to compare notes with you regarding Joseph and Louvinia's children. This is what I have: Lenton Landry b. 1893 Felix Landry b. 1897 Marie Landry b. 1899 Tonise Landry b. 1903 d. 1997 ("got all the old man's land" according to my father-in-law). Tonise's son Paul Landry recently died in Mamou (lived in Eunice) Inolia Landry Elton Landry Alvin Landry Carlton Landry b. 1915 d. 1997 (my father-in-law) Morris Landry I only show 9 kids. Joseph remarried and had a 10th kid with his second wife "Onesia". This was Shelton Landry, probably born in may 1934, died in 1985. Do you show another child for Joseph and Louvinia, or is Shelton the 10th? Thanks! Tina tinam52@yahoo.com tinam52@telocity.com
