(Rc PR 1686 52a); d (Décl BIM av Rc 1693. Il est décédé vers 1692 en Port Royal (Bona Arcenault vol. 2, p .624) It is believed by some that René LANDRY died in 1683 at age 53 in Port Royal, but there is no documentation of this. According to Stephen White's Dictionnaire, page 916, René LANDRY le jeune's death was recorded in the Déclarations de Belle-Ile-en-Mer. The Dictionnaire lists him as dying before the census of 1693. His place of birth is unknown and the place of marriage to Marie BERNARD is unknown. Marie BERNARD's place of birth is unknown. She was the daughter of Unknown Bernard and Andrée Guyon. There is no information available on Marie's father - Andrée was born abt 1615 and her second husband was Antoine Belliveau married abt 1651 Source: Dictionnaire Généalogique des Familles Acadiennes by Stephen A. White, p 125 ======= MARIE BERNARD, 1645 MARIE BERNARD ( ???????? (1) & André Guyon) n v 1645; s Rg 11 Janv 1719.(S.A. White "Dictionaire généalogique des families acadiennes, partie I (1636?1714) v 1659 (in progress) Andrée GUYON married Antoine BELLIVEAU abt 1651. At the time of his marriage, she was the widow of and Unknown BERNARD - some researchers have listed this former marriage to her marriage to Andre Bernard. Andrée Guyon was born abt 1615. Antoine was born ca 1621. There were two children from each marriage. Dicitonnaire Généalogique des Familles Acadiennes by Stephen A. White, page 96 >From Andrée's marriage to ------ Bernard were born: Marie born abtr 1645.She married René Landry abt 1659. She was buried 11 Jan 1719 at Port-Royal. Jeanne was born abt 1666 and married Guyon (Dion ou Denis) Chiasson dit LaVallée son of Pierre and Marie Péroché. She died abt 7 October 1683. So as you see, there could be no descendants from this line since they had two daughters and no sons. Dicitonnaire Généalogique des Familles Acadiennes by Stephen A. White, page125 You need to consult S. A. White's Dictionnaire, pp. 124 ff. Some of the entries have been quoted on this list in the last few days. The bottom line is that André is most probably NOT the father of René; the parents of René are not known. RENE BERNARD, 1663, s'est etabli a Beaubassin. Hope this helps don Landry
