    1. Landrys of Fort Kent./Soldier Pond, Maine
    2. Ed Landry sent me the following inquiry. Can anyone help him? =============== Landrys of Fort Kent./Soldier Pond, Maine Date: 8/16/01 9:03:45 PM Central Daylight Time From: etlandry@home.com (Ed Landry) To: don2717@aol.com I have just found your July 2, 2001 message in Genealogy.com. and have just begun to review information in LandryStuff.com. which is incredible information. I am the son of Thomas Joseph Landry who was born in Fort Kent, Maine on Sept. 6, 1911. He was the son of Honore Landry and Hermine Bosse. Honore was born around 1870 in the Fort Kent/Soldier Pond area, the oldest of three brothers, Alex and possibly Leon. I do not know their father's name, my great grandfather Honore, the oldest brother, was not interested in farming (interested in construction) and gave up the family farm to Leon. Leon had one son, Leon and two daughters, Mabel and Lucille. This son Leon had four daughters. I understand that the farm has been out of the family now for about twenty years. Family lore has always come down that my great grandfather came from Quebec and was the one of twenty one sons who homesteaded in Soldier Pond, Maine. My father and I were the last surviving sons of this line of Landrys that homesteaded in Maine. My son will have three boys by the end of the year, and it looks like our family line will continue. I would like very much to see if it is possible that my family lineage can be traced to the early settlers in Quebec. I plan to make a trip to Fort Kent at the end of August and will try to determine the names and dates of my grandfather and his father and so on as best I can. Any advice, information or suggestions would be welcome. You must be proud of the wonderful work you have done in the LandryStuff website. I intend to share this valuable information with my family. Sincerely, Edmond T. Landry 58 Rosemary Drive North Kingstown, Rhode Island 02852

    2. I am also researching John Baptiste Landry except mine was born 1844. He lived in Assumption Parish, but I believe he may have been from St. James Parish. I seemed to have hit a brick wall with him. He had a son named John which could have been a junior to your John. Do you know if your John had any siblings?
