Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YUp.2ACIB/496.3 Message Board Post: Hello Jerry & Jacques I have this line a bit different Based on Stephen White who corrected errors of several previous authors Accrding to Stephen, Francois Landry who married Catherine Cormier was not the son of Antoine Landry and Marie Blanche Leblanc Antoine Landry (Father of above) had a son Francois b abt 1692 m Marie-Josephe Doucet 5/27/1711 at Grand Pre I believe this couple are the parents of Francois m Catherine Cormier (I have not verified this from White) Further down as sons of Francois landry and Agnes Thibodeau, I have a Jean Baptiste m to Euphrosine Paradis 2/21/1791 daughter of Joseph Paradis & M. Therese Levesque, I also have a brother Joseph m to Euphrosine Paradis 10/28/1793 daughter of Antoine Paradis & Marthe Lavoie. This comes from the repertoire of marriages of St. Louis de Kamouraska Quebec. In the same repertoire, Joseph & Marie Paradis have a son Jean Baptiste who marries Modeste Potvin 8/27/1821 I believe these are the parents of Onesime m to Caroline Paradis that have a child Joseph b 7/15/1863. This is unverified. Apparently 2 brothers Joseph & Jean Baptiste married 2 different women probably both named Marie Euphrosine Paradis. This fact is also verified in the PRDH records of the 2 marriages as well as the Kamouraska repertoire described above. This can create a lot of confusion. I am a descendant of Alexis Landry son of Antoine & Marie Blanche Leblanc. Some authors have him as a brother of Francois but this lineage indicates he is a first cousin. Francois died in Acadia before the deportation but his family and Alexis family wind up together at Kamouraska Quebec after 1763. Almost every Landry marriage in the repertoire (5 pages) during this period are the result of offspring of these 2 familys. I'm unsure where Dolly Chaney, my great-grandmother was born, but, my grandmother, Ida Jane Rudison Landry (Baton Rouge) was born in Dennis Mills, Louisiana in St. Helena Parish. After checking surnames on a few sites, I finally found one Dolly Chaney from Louisiana born approx. 1874 and died approx. 1950. The only Landry's that I know of in my family are my dad & aunt, being that my grandparents only had two children. My search has lead me to my grandfather's birthplace in Abbeville, La. in Vermillion Parish. My grandfather had siblings, but I'm not sure how many. His name was Rev. Adam Howell Landry. I don't know if it will help, but try to see who you can find in Abbeville, La.
