Hello, I am new to the Landis list. I am trying to obtain information on my g,g,grandfather David Landis. David was born in 1832 in Pennsylvania and married a woman by the name of Sarah born in 1841 in Pennsylvania. Their children were: Ida May b. 1866, PA; d. April 27, 1948, Akron, Ohio. Ida was living with her daughter Laura at the time of her death. Ellen b. 1867, Pa. Maude b. 1870 Maggie b. 1872 Willie b. 1872 Belle b. 1874 Josephine b. 1876 Ida May Landis married William Barringer on August 4, 1888. She was his second wife and stepmother to his son John W. b. October 24, 1870. Children of Ida and William: Sarah Ellen b. May 13, 1889 in Monongahela, Pa.; d. January 1974 in Akron, Ohio. She married # l Robert Lee Jenkins, #2 Paul McCormick. Laura Ety b. June 11, 1892; d. July 1973, in Akron, Ohio. m Keiling. Sarah Ellen Barringer and Robert Lee Jenkins were my grandparents. My late father, Charles B. Jenkins, often spoke of an uncle with the last name of Shallinburger. I don't know if this is the maiden name of David Landis' wife , Sarah or his mother, or the maiden name of William Barringer's mother.
