Application to the new list and to the state of Ohio Please let me know if this helps anyone..... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >From marriage records--- John Franklin Landis married Alta Renna COLTER on 20 Jan. 1916, per Oskaloosa Methodist Church records. What connection to your Landis family is unknown. There are so few Landis entries, I've copied anything on that name that I have found. The 1859 Kansas Territorial census listed one Landis J. P. Landis, in Oskaloosa Twp. Jefferson Co. He came to Kansas in June 1857. There were no entries for Landis in Jefferson Co. census for 1875 of 1885. - ----------------------------------------------- I have a copy of the cemetery records for Douglas Co. KS, the adjoining county to Jefferson, on the south. I do find some Landis families there as follows: Henry C. Landes (note spelling), b. 28 Oct. 1864, d. 7 June 1932, bur. at Richland-Harmon Cem. Wakarusa Twp. Ward E. Landis, b. 1894, d. 1982, bur Oak Hill Cem., Lawrence, in sect. 5 Edith M. Landis, b. 1908, d. 1983, bur Oak Hill Cem., Lawrence, in sect. 5 Bernard D.
