    3. My grandmother was Myrtle Landis(1879-1915) who married Alonzo Norris(1870-1912)#1 and Foster Blake #2. Her father was Joseph Landis (1855-1926) of Mercer county,PA where records are Few and far between.Wife of Joseph was Maggie Lossie,Lasse,Lawson,? Several children were born to Myrtle and Alonzo including my mother,Estella. After Alonzo was killed by a train, the children were given to friends and relatives to raise. Myrtle then married Foster Blake of Meigs county,OH about which little is known.Myrtle and Foster had a child born Francis Blake in Lancaster,PA. Mar.16,1914He was given to Myrtle's brother,Clarence Landis of E. Liverpool,OH to raiseThey renamed him Richard Clinton Landis.Myrtle and Foster had a second child,Richard Elmo Blake Aug 11,1915 in Meigs county,OH.Myrtle died Aug. 28,1915 of complications following birth of Richard Elmo Blake who was placed in the Meigs Co.Childrens Home Infirmary where he died 12-17-1915 at 4mo. of age and buried on the Infirmary grounds where all graves remain without markers. Most of this information has been gathered by me after the death of Richard Clinton Landis who committed suicide in 1989.He went to his grave knowing very little of this family history.Any information concerning Joseph Landis his wife Maggie or Foster Blake will be appreciated.--Bob Loughley -----Original Message----- From: Stacie <onionring@blomand.net> To: LANDIS-L@rootsweb.com <LANDIS-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Friday, July 14, 2000 7:37 AM Subject: [LANDIS] >Good Morning Everyone, >I am going to play on your heart strings this morning and am hoping I get a little response...8-) > >Most of you know about my family history...my mom was given away during the depression (which from what I hear wasn't to uncommon given the circumstances) and I never heard any of the family stories, had the sunday dinner's at Grandma's & pa's, had the holidays, cookouts, reunions,...etc....what I would like now..(and I plan on adding it to the website) is family recipes...along with the stories behind them...I am in a way adopting my cousins out there..and if you think about it aren't we all related?
