Thank you everyone who wrote to help me with my FTM program problem. I went into panic mode last night when my computer refused to restore my personal files. It kept saying that it could not find the file. I was afraid that somehow the GedCom I had received somehow had overwritten my own data. I guess the moral to the story is that it was time for me to back-up more info on a floppy for security. I don't know what I would have done if I had lost over 1000 names and all of my carefully documented info. Still looking for someone who might have info on a Joseph Landis who most likely was born sometime between late 1700s or very early 1800s. Since my g,g,grandfather David Landis was born 1831, I believe the time frame for Joseph would be 1790-1811.
