Hi all - here is my line. Any help filling in gaps would be so appreciated!! This family is so huge, I am only going to put my direct line completely here. John Landis (I have found two ages - 1850 census he is listed as 57 born abt. 1793 in PA; 1860 census he is listed as being 76 - born abt. 1784 in VA). Married Catharine ___________ she was born abt. 1803 in VA. *I did find a marriage record for a John Landes and Catharine Burkley on September 5, 1825 in Rockingham County, VA. I have been trying to see if there is anyone out there who knows if these are the same people. HELP! I have been told that Rockingham is close enough to Hardy that they could have gone there to be married. Children of John and Catherine: 2. Abraham Landes born abt. November 1830 in Hardy County, WV Married Eliza J. ______________ Their Children: 3. John W. Landes born April 1857, in Hardy County, WV John W. married Ellen Francis (Francis Ellen) Full in April 1880 in Grant County, WV. 4. Their one child was Elmer Landes, born October 25, 1880 in Milroy District, Grant County, WV. Elmer married Hady (Alice) Helmick, daughter of Adam Fisher Helmick and Edith Jane Shreve, April 26, 1902 in Pendleton County, WV. Elmer and Hady's children: 5. Bertha Landes Virgie E. Landes Lenoria Landes Adam Landes Mabel Landes Amby Landes Edna J. Landes Nellie Rae Landes 2. Martin Landes born abt 1831 2. John Landes born abt 1833 2. Joseph Landes born abt 1834 2.
