There are very few records in our collection on Seneca Co. They don't seem to have produced much. I am glad to do quick look-ups for people if I can. But I am just not set up to do extensive research on all parts of the state. If you can give me a some specifics and I will see what I can do. Lauren Landis
Lauren, Please look up Minnie Escalila LANDIS, who married Benjamin Franklin MOYER. They were born in Flat Rock, Seneca County, Ohio; they died in Bellevue, Huron County, Ohio. They are buried in Lyme Township Cemetery, Huron County, Ohio. If there is any cost in this research, I will be glad to compensate you. The LDS have them born in Seneca and a mention of one son and his wife. There is no mention of any of their other children or their son's second wife, or children from either marriage. Thank you in advance for any information you can send me. Patricia (Edwards) Maher Paw Paw, MI almenami@aol.com
Hi Everyone, I work at the library in Stark County, OH and we have a very good genealogy collection. It includes the entire Ohio Census--all years, all counties--plus books and microfiche on most of the state. If you have any questions on Ohio LANDISes, I will be glad to see what I can find. Please make your requests as specific as possible (i.e. a marriage, census, cemetery, estate, etc. for a specific person) and include the probable county where the record should have taken place. I can't take on any extensive research without charging a fee. But I will be glad to do some quick look-ups for people, if we have the sources in our collection that is, for free. Good morning,,, I have added another page... http://homepages.go.com/~stacie_lea/landis/tncensus.htm I wanted to explain though that there is no family link mentioned on any of the census's except of course 1850...also...I am not sure how other states do it as I have only researched in Tennessee but they list if the person was colored...which as you will see there were quite a few black Landis's (all spellings),,,,if anyone should have any info about these families I would love to hear from you... I will be going to the library as usual this morning...and will see what I can dig up on Middle Tennessee and West Tennessee,,,I am also not sure why they consider these counties as east as they are more middle....anyway..enjoy...I will dig up more stuff for everyone... Stacie
