Good Morning, Sorry I haven't kept my word to much lately,,,I thought I would have more time to work with my genealogy and do the house and move at the same time....I am trying to keep on top at least of the lookups... I have managed to get the census info from Ancestry.com....they may not have alot of info on specific people but they have a good deal on census. SO ONCE AGAIN I am asking that everyone give a roll call of the main state they are researching their LANDIS's in...I will then post on the list that census....I believe the years for it are 1799-1880,,,,,so I will wait to hear from everyone...after I get the Landis done I will go on to the next spelling es/ess/iss/ers/us/os/ies Stacie Sweet Potato's Genealogy Page! http://homepages.go.com/~stacie_lea/index.htm ~~Be an organ donor....give your heart to Jesus~~ **John 3:16***
I wanted to let everyone know that I no longer will have an Amazon.com link on my website. I know that most people use them to acquire their reading material, but I think you should reconsider after reading this: ****************** CHRISTIAN GROUP PROTESTS AMAZON.COM OVER INCEST BOOK The American Family Association (AFA) is leading a protest over Internet bookseller giant Amazon.com's stocking of a book promoting incest. "Daddy: An Erotic Memoir" sells for $14.95 and is described as "a father's searing confession of...forbidden love." AFA director of public relations Allen Wildmon said: "This company will apparently provide anything to anyone, as long as the almighty dollar is involved in the exchange." The organization is calling on people to "politely urge" Amazon.com to cease stocking the title "for the sake of our children." Published in July by Boustrophedon Press, the book was written by Raul Schmidt, said to be the pseudonym of a Hollywood writer/director who was reunited with his two daughters, whom he hardly knew, when they were "barely out of their teens." He says that their relationship gave them "some of the happiest moments any of us ever knew." The 212-page book is billed as "a memoir of incest without victims." The AFA also encouraged supporters to protest Amazon.com's offering a book about sexual relationships between men and boys. The company said last week that its policy of "universal access" made it impossible to remove items from the catalogue even if individuals disliked them. ****************** Stacie Sweet Potato's Genealogy Page! http://homepages.go.com/~stacie_lea/index.htm ~~Be an organ donor....give your heart to Jesus~~ **John 3:16***

Just read your message on the LANDIS-L list. I believe you will find that very dedicated genealogists from "many" years ago have identified the Christian LANDES who arrived 1736 on the ship HARLE as part of the York County, PA (Windsor Township) LANDES family of which I descend from....Christian (1728 - 1782). It is thought that Christian on the Ship Harle could be my Christian's Father. Is anyone else on the list descended from the York County LANDES family. My Christian died 17 January 1782 in York County, Windsor Township, PA. It is also "thought" that these LANDES' descend from the Lancaster LANDES family.
