Stacie, are you considering posting a transcription, or a scanned image of the originals? If it is a transcription, 12 pages of ASCII text isn't a very big file, and is easy when a reader wishes to print out a hard copy of an entire issue. The alternative is to post page-by-page with a "previous page - next page" link at the bottom of each one. I'm not familiar with the layout of "Landers Landings" -- is there any index for each issue, or is it free-form? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= "Society is like a stew. sorry I have been having more trouble with my computer...l filed a complaint with the BBB yesterday and hopefully we can come to some sort of agreement or something about this. I will more than likely start working on the website from the library as they have a more reliable computer...(freezing up is still the only problem...I haven't lost any info..8-) thank goodness....and I have backed up...8-)....) Some how though I did manage to copy 3 of the military historical photos and have placed them on the site...you can also find a link to them from the new link below. I am giong to the library this morning and will be doing more research. I will try to catch up again..and apologize for apologizing so much. I feel almost like I am letting you all down. I do have something I would like everyones advice on though. I have the Lander's landings that I would like to add to the site...(52 issues, 12 pages each) which is the problem...it is 12 pages long each and would make for a VERY large page...any suggestions on how to post them to the website? I just got back from PA where I obtained several lists of family buried in the cemetery. Mainly, I was looking for Barringers and Jenkins; but, decided to ask if there were any Landis surnames at the cemetery. Ida May Landis had married a William Barringer. I was able to find Willam and many of his family so since many times families used the same cemeteries Landis was my next family to check.. Well, I found my g,g,grandparents David Landis and wife Sarah E. Kennedy. Here is the list of Landis surnames buried at the cemetery just in case someone on the list can use the info: Landis Interment date Allie H. 07/03/1928 David 05/31/1906 David Scott 12/06/1952 Sarah E. 10/05/1918 William 06/09/1938 The lot owner listed on all of the above was a J.W. Ramage. I don't know who this person was; but, hope someone on the list can help. I know that David and Sarah E. are my line. I think that William was my g,grandmother's brother; but, won't know until I obtain a Death Certificate for him. Marilyn, Lake Co., IL Anderson, Barringer, Bedall (Beadle), Dicks(Dix), Howe, Jenkins, Johnson, Jordan, Kennedy, Landis, Mayhorn, Minerd, Moller, Nein, Roley,Shellenberger, Sisler, Walters, Weber, Weems/Wemyss, Whetzel + Var., Wilson, Worrell. Locations: PA: Adams, Allegheny,Armstrong, Bedford, Berks, Fayette, Greene, Northampton, Somerset, Washington, Westmoreland, York Counties Maryland: Frederick Co. and Hagerstown.

Sorry about this group... I lost all my email addresses with my old hard drive.... Diana......could you email me...? Dan ....(Landiss) Thanks for the kudo's. I read my guestbook this morning and have to tell you that you made me smile...8-).....thank you . I am compiling my emails under names...(ex. David, Daniel, Christian....etc.....so I will be in touch with everyone eventually about your lines...if you have gotten new info in the past 3 weeks or since we last spoke I would love to hear from you so that I can add it to the info I have from you already. This way when I get emails asking for info I can just turn to that name and find the info needed if I have it...8-) Also I want to publicly thank Bob McAlear for sharing his Lander's Landings with me. Good Morning, Okay...first have to tell you that my computer...although reliable still freezes up and sometimes I have to reboot..but I have ordered a new cpu (the reason for the freezes) and will have it fixed hopefully way before friday. second. I believe I told everyone I FINALLY got the scanner I have been saying I would be getting for months and have added my first image sort of. Under the Landis Images I have added the Susanna Landis Sampler....I thought but it asks if you want to save to disk or download from site....I downloaded and it came up on my Microsoft Picture It! and looked fine...but for some reason it won't save it directly to the site...give me time..my computer needs some tweaks and stuff and I will have it on the site by the end of the month.. I just wanted to let you all know... I just clicked a button...don't know which one...now I have an indented email 8-) It's safe to download and I think you will enjoy it. I am planning on adding the military pics also and some other GREAT items...just be patient as I have so much to do to the site and to my computer....... PLEASE let me know if you should have any problems.... Stacie

Remember! Don't open the "ILOVEYOU" message, it is a nasty virus! Recent updates for Landers, Landis, Landes, Landiss have been posted to http://www.landiss.com/family/ Included is a little bit of the "Henry Harmon Landers" (Tannahill) line. They aren't perfect! There are a couple of typos, and also a few judgement calls, so please have a look and send me anything you feel needs to be corrected or updated -- thanks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dan Landiss <mailto:dan@landiss.com> St. Louis, MO <http://www.landiss.com> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When we were in Gettysburg this past weekend, I noticed a display of articles that belonged to Civil War Veteran Henry K. Landis of Lancaster, PA. The articles were GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) Kepi, and Jacket, that he wore. There was also a photo of him. I took some digital photos of these items, if anyone is descended from him or connected to him, I would be happy to email the pictures to you. Sandra Young
added more data to the site this morning, as usual...but added something extra....the Landish Page http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sweetpoe/landish/landish.html Stacie ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sweet Potato's Genealogy Page! http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sweetpoe/index.html *******************************************************************************
Good morning, been awhile since I've seen any postings on the list and thought I would jump start it again...8-) well I had let my membership run out at ancestry a couple of weeks ago...right when I had finished moving so I took a breather...and now have resubscribed and once again working on adding info to the site. You will notice that I am also adding archived material from rootsweb...very simple to access yourself but thought it would be much easier to find it on one site instead of bouncing around...but like with everything it will take me a while to gather and add it...it isn't really a bother...it's just the html that makes it long going...8-) (but worth it I think) also have loads of info from tennessee to add.... let me know if there is anything you would like to see on the site...or if you think I should concentrate on one surname for awhile let me know.
