Blimey love, you've lost me! I don't know Bolton very well myself, and visits are few and far between, I think you mean Churchgate, which is right from Bradshawgate. Do you mean the Cinema? I have seen old pictures, but much of even quite recent Bolton has been pulled down now. I think Comet is where you mean, nowadays! I used to work at the Telephone exchange, which was - well, still is - on Church Street, behind the Blue Boar; it was something of a slum then, is a car park now. There were ancient, rat infested warehouses across the road when I worked there in the Eighties and early Nineties. Just above the river Irwell, what is left of it. I would guess your nurses were at Oldham Royal Infirmary, which was a lovely old brick building with bits sticking out all over the place, reminiscent of the Addams Family mansion! They pulled it down because there simply wasn't room to expand it, the streets crowded it too close. The Royal Oldham, as they now call it, is up near Latics football ground.
