Yes, please Jim....please follow up if at all possible. I first posted the question on the MAN list about 6 months ago...but we didn't get a satisfactory (to me!) answer. Although it certainly seems that "twists" was the name used over a lot of (north?) Manchester, it wasn't the one I remember...or, rather, don't remember. I have a vivid memory of "me Mum" standing outside the entrance of Platt Park on Dickenson Road at an ice cream van (almost certainly Sivori's) and saying "A couple of .............s, please" In the back of my mind is an idea the name began either with a "C" or an "S"...but I could be very wrong. And, sorry, no Maggie...I'm not that Alan Wright. I was born in Maida St (then called Watson St) in Longsight, just off Matthews Lane. And no brothers at all! Cheers Alan
