    3. Hi again folks, Thanks for the thoughts on what those delicious, dark brown ice cream cornets were called. But I'm afraid we haven't "rung any bells" yet. I guess it was different in Salford, Norma. I suppose I was talking about the Deep South (of Manchester, that was...Longsight/Fallowfield to be precise :-) Ah well...if anyone has any further thoughts, I'd be delighted to hear them. (And then maybe I can sleep at night!) Cheers Alan

    3. Hello, I've seen the items about ice cream in Manchester area.. I actually live a few yards away from a lady who I believe is the widow of the Sivori who sold the ice cream. Perhaps if you want to pursue this further you could could mail me directly.     3. Re. the cornets, the name "twists" is not just Salford, I'm from Oldham, the Missus from Prestwich, and we both knew them by that name. Mother-in-Law used to love them! They were a kind of "brandysnap" I think. Ian Winterbottom
