Hi everyone, I'm wondering if SKS on this list could give me the recipe for home made ginger beer. My mother used to make it when we lived in Bolton, and I often think that it would be a really refreshing drink in Sydney's heat at this time of the year. I know that she gave me the recipe before she died in 1992, but I have searched and searched and I cannot find it anywhere. I know that you start with something called a 'plant' and you feed it everyday for maybe two weeks before you divide it and use half to make the ginger beer. But that is all that I can remember.
