Anyone know this old Lancashire saying which my grandmother used to use (in the 1930's) "Hear all say nowt; tak' all gie nowt, and if tha does owt for nowt, do it for thysen" Margaret in Canada
I know it all right, have heard it too, but the only place I have seen it in years was on a commemorative mug that was a souvenir of YORKSHIRE! They pinch all sorts tha' knows, on t'other side o't' Pennines! Ian
