    3. John Gee said that he was born in 1791 at Wigan on the 1841, 1851 and 1861 censuses. According to the online map, most o these seem to be too far away, although I don't know about Bolton. I think I may have found his wife Ann Shaw, born in Leigh, but not sure since she died before 1841 and I've not found a death record that gives me enough clues. How do you decide which one? Do you track down each one? 3. The 1841 would only record the county where he was born, not the place Someone could easily be born in one place and baptised in another, that is presupposing he was baptised or was baptised and can be found in a record online And yes you would list them out and *kill* them off one by one if you can, did they marry, where and when did they die etc Starting with the nearest to Wigan and working your way out Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 17/07/2018 19:45, Teri Cleaveland wrote: > John Gee said that he was born in 1791 at Wigan on the 1841, 1851 and 1861 > censuses. 3. I should have added A person could think they were born in one place but was actually born in another, for example if their parents moved whilst they were an infant Does the target have any known siblings, where and when were they born Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 17/07/2018 19:54, Nivard Ovington wrote: > The 1841 would only record the county where he was born, not the place > > Someone could easily be born in one place and baptised in another, that > is presupposing he was baptised or was baptised and can be found in a > record online
