This is why I love this group! Always so willing to help! I've run into another dilemma: I am looking for a marriage for John Gee and wife Ann. So far I've attributed several daughters to the family, Mary, Ann, Elizabeth and Jane, the one who married James Crompton. According to the census (Ann wasn't around in 1841), the first daughter was born in 1812. I found one marriage 5 Oct 1812 in Wigan to Ann Shaw, and the other marriage 30 July 1810 in Manchester to a Ann Cook. Because of the birth of the daughter, I am leaning toward the 1810 marriage. Is this the assumptionn that you would make? Teri Cleaveland Original message: (I am looking for a birth record. James Compton and Jane Gee were married in Mottram In Longdendale, Chester, 10 N0v 1833. There are no parents or birth location on the marriage document. Census after the marriage have them both born in Wigan (1851 census) and in 1861, James was born in Haskin in Lancashire. I come up with birth records for James in 3 May 1812 Bolton-le-Moors, Lancashire and 28 Dec 1811 Deane, St Mary, Lancashire. Not knowing the area, which seems like it would be the best option for his birth document? Thank you for your help!!) ***** *Ps 37:4-7* *https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__tcleaveland.lifevantage.com_&d=DwIBaQ&c=kKqjBR9KKWaWpMhASkPbOg&r=bcZ9nVh4A2KhHJuxKs5AtJP9c9vx5wRSA3ICtquWGDk&m=9Ci2DLzqv7s5R5b6D1lrc5d0yJ4bF9L2U1zSCr7ZSNg&s=BqNdi7KLb3CSlQJWJJpRJhpLVhKcmsTzV6WHpeHGWpI&e= <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__tcleaveland.lifevantage.com_&d=DwIBaQ&c=kKqjBR9KKWaWpMhASkPbOg&r=bcZ9nVh4A2KhHJuxKs5AtJP9c9vx5wRSA3ICtquWGDk&m=9Ci2DLzqv7s5R5b6D1lrc5d0yJ4bF9L2U1zSCr7ZSNg&s=BqNdi7KLb3CSlQJWJJpRJhpLVhKcmsTzV6WHpeHGWpI&e=>https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.cleavelandindiansonline.com&d=DwIBaQ&c=kKqjBR9KKWaWpMhASkPbOg&r=bcZ9nVh4A2KhHJuxKs5AtJP9c9vx5wRSA3ICtquWGDk&m=9Ci2DLzqv7s5R5b6D1lrc5d0yJ4bF9L2U1zSCr7ZSNg&s=LgSC9KNKjD5lEA4Aa3OfCUUP1zd-s7cxQVwAiD7DM3w&e= <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.cleavelandindiansonline.com&d=DwIBaQ&c=kKqjBR9KKWaWpMhASkPbOg&r=bcZ9nVh4A2KhHJuxKs5AtJP9c9vx5wRSA3ICtquWGDk&m=9Ci2DLzqv7s5R5b6D1lrc5d0yJ4bF9L2U1zSCr7ZSNg&s=LgSC9KNKjD5lEA4Aa3OfCUUP1zd-s7cxQVwAiD7DM3w&e=>* *****

Teri, I think I would be looking at this one: Marriage: 5 Oct 1812 All Saints, Wigan, Lancashire, England John Gee - (X), Billinge Ann Shaw - (X), Billinge Witness: Wm. Bancks; Richd. Adamson, (X) Married by Banns by: Thomas Pigot Curate Register: Marriages 1803 - 1812, Page 382, Entry 5060 Source: LDS Film 1885690 About 7 months before the birth of Jane, also at Billinge in 1813, not unusual in those days. LOPC lists six children to John and Ann(e) baptised at Billinge St Aiden between 1813 and 1825. (Daughters - Mary, ELLEN, Elizabeth and Jane, Sons - Thomas & William ) Taken together this looks like a single family. What census entry are you looking at when you say "Ann wasn't around in 1841" ?
