I can barely contain myself! I, essentially, gave up genealogy a decade ago because I had no leads left to pursue. Out of BOREDOM, I looked at these photos. On the VERY FIRST PAGE, I found a name from my ancestor's family group: Samuel Almond. I looked at a lot of pages and saw him over and over. I then jumped way ahead and saw another from this same family group: Miles Almond. I believe these two bracket (one older, one younger) my direct ancestor: Peter Almond. So, they are my "uncles." With no birth records for Peter or these two, I made up my mind that the church records must be at the bottom of the Entwistle Reservoir. I know this is only a tidbit of info, with no direction to further info, but I'm glad to have it. Before I get too excited, I have to resolve a question. I believe these pages are from 1832. I seem to have a record of them being in New Jersey a few years earlier. I will have to dig that out of dusty files. It seems impossible that two different Almond families would live in Entwistle at this time and have both a Samuel and a Miles in the family group. So, I'm going to claim them! I wonder if the following might be relatives of the ALMOND'S you are researching? Or is it possible they are the two you were looking for? They were both baptised the same day. If you examine the images you will see that they are mainly (I say mainly because I have not checked them all) from 1838 not 1832 BobC On 02/07/2018 19:53, Bill LaCoff wrote: > I can barely contain myself! I have two bits of info that relate to the info just shared. There was a family bible with a note in it, not data inscribed in the bible itself. It states that Miles Almond was born 1800 and died 1841. The family lived on Little Meadow(s) farm in Entwistle. There is a record concerning Samuel Almond: Baptism: 22 Nov 1819 Independent, Edgeworth, Lancashire, England Samuel Almond - Son of Miles Almond & Sarah Born: 2 Oct 1819 Abode: Entwistle Hale Register: Baptisms 1807 - 1837, Page 15 Source: LDS Film 560880 From the parish register. Reviewing this information, I believe that Miles Almond that I find in New Jersey is a son of one of these. He, along with other Almonds in the bible note, is in the New Jersey 1828, and subsequent, census reports. I am guessing that there is a typo above and the Abode was Entwistle Hall. Thanks to all on this list that have helped me in the past.
